  6. All Whitelisted members are encouraged to join and listen in the Town Hall Discord channel as Admins and Dev go over various items pertaining to the server. People will be able to ask questions at the end.
  7. For now, just Discord security channel. Undecided right now. I'm leaning towards it makes them crooked personally. I would say anywhere you see NPC Security Guards would make sense. So for example: One security guard can be seen in the Los Santos Golf Club, and others can be seen guarding or patrolling public areas such as the University of San Andreas, Los Santos. I would even say the high end apartments and banks. But RPing it out is always the best step. I think @ewokfuzzynuttz had a great grasp on it when he first did Security and probably is a great person to reach out to. These two questions blend together so I'll answer them both here. Private security would basically mean you're not being contracted through the government. So in my opinion, you wouldn't be 'on duty' via game mechanic. Or if you were, you would have to abandon your private job for your contract government one if that makes sense? I think that escorting and body guarding are great ways to offer private security in addition to events. I would say this is up to the person who is hiring you for the service. I would say that it can't be Gruppe Sechs attire though. Traditionally in a black suit or business attire but it can be whatever look that person who hired you is going for I'd think.
  8. Yes. I would say it's their duty to chase and apprehend until PD is able to come and charge/ arrest for the crime. IE: taze them, cuff them, and apprehend. Yes, I think that's well within their rights. As far as payment goes, if they belong to players, I think you could give the plate number to the Tow driver and then they could go and get money from that person. Helps to create RP. If they're NPCs either pay out of pocket or maybe make a tally the way PD does and the government can reimburse the tow drivers. Will get insight from other admins on other questions.
  9. Welcome to the city of Los Santos! You find yourself at City Hall with a little bit of money in your pocket, some money you were able to transfer to the bank, and a whole lot of spunk. What now? Here's a step by step guide on how to hit the streets running on TLSRP. You start with $2,500 in your wallet and $2,500 in your bank account. Give Your Character an Identity You'll start out at the creation screen. You'll give your character their first and last name, age, and Bleeter handle (GTA Universe version of Twitter). Your Bleeter handle will show up on screen to the public when you Bleet from your phone. You will also be able to set up your character's appearance. Once your character is set up, you'll walk through the San Andreas border and find yourself right in front of City Hall. Head over to the smaller blue circles to pick a job. The large light blue circle lets you set your character's appearance if you you're using a freemode character. You can read more on that below under "Changing Your Appearance." The small dark blue circle on the right lets you pick your job. Read more on that below. Pick a Job There are several jobs available in Los Santos that can be accessed at each job's location (many of which are marked on the map). Some are traditional, others are “hidden” (and thus tend to be on the illegal side). You can sign up for each job at the job's location. As stated in the Community Guidelines, pick a job that matches your character's personality/history/ story/etc. For legal jobs you will receive job specific calls via your phone. However, don't be afraid to come up with something unique in RP to be your job. Food/Water: Much like in your day to day life, while in Los Santos your character will need to eat and drink to stay healthy. You'll have to explore the city to find all the hot spots for food. Drive-Thrus are the best way to keep your thirst quenched and your stomach nice and full. Cluckin' Bell is the closest place to City Hall to grab a bite. Getting Around: Want to legally leave City Hall? Calling a Taxi will be your best bet. You can always walk or take one of the Trams. Tram stations are designated on the map with Green T's and a free service provided by the city. Changing Appearance If you don't quite like the appearance you gave yourself from the creation screen, you can go to a barbershop and type "/skins" to pay $100 to edit your appearance. You are free to use the NPC models available in game for your character. However, be aware that someone may already be using that skin with an active character so be open to potentially changing skins. Free Mode Body: 1. Select "Player Model" 2. Go to the "Slot" section, use Left and Right arrow keys to browse the different skins. 3. Hit Enter when you've found the skin you want. Ped Models: Some Premade Skins have appearance options (not all though). If they do: Use the {Left} and {Right} cursors (keyboard) to navigate between Slot or Accessory number. Cursor {Down} to the first slider row, and cursor {Left} or {Right} to navigate between options. Cursor {Down} to the second slider row, and cursor {Left} or {Right} to navigate between additional color or pattern choices for the selection if available. The third slider row does not have a defining effect. Freemode Customization: "/skins" command allows you to change your character skin and add accessories. "Choose Slot": Clothing Stores The clothing shop lets you fine tune your character's clothing. Marked on map with t-shirt symbol. Only usable by freemode skins. Barber Shops The barber shops around the map offer more options to help customize the look of your character. Type "/skins" while in a barbershop to pay $100 to update your look. Additionally, changing the character at the barber shop will fix any mis-match between the face skin color and the rest of the body. *Make sure to set your face first!* Marked on map with scissors symbol. Only usable by freemode skins. Pick a Job There are several jobs available in Los Santos that can be accessed at each job's location (many of which are marked on the map). Some are traditional, others are “hidden” (and thus tend to be on the illegal side). You can sign up for legal civilian jobs at City Hall. As stated in the Community Guidelines, pick a job that matches your character's personality/history/ story/etc. For legal jobs you will receive job specific calls via your phone. However, don't be afraid to come up with something unique in RP to be your job. Visit the Gym: When you first arrive in the city, you'll be strong enough to carry the essentials. Characters max out at 60kg of strength (thus allowing you to carry things in your inventory). Head down to Vespucci Beach and visit Leslie Lifts, the beach side gym to get your swole on. Now Go RP! Those are the basics. If you followed this guide you should have a nice muscle swole, some food in your belly, an identity, and a face at the very least. Now go RP with the fine citizens in the fine state of San Andreas. "The primary focus of this server is Role Play... Sometimes the RP will go your way and sometimes it won’t, but if you keep the RP in character and on the server, everyone will have a good time." - TLSRP Community Guidelines Thank you to @Hicks_206, @Gwynnish, @bkidderz, and @WheelzWA for helping with this guide.

Otherwise, the key will be bound to two commands and execute them at the same time. These key binds are persistent and will save to your client, clearing cache will remove them. Creating A Character You are free to use the NPC models available in game for your character. However, be aware that someone may already be using that skin with an active character so be open to potentially changing skins. **All freemode customizations are currently done at the circle in front of City Hall while a new one is being worked on.** "/skins" command allows you to change your character skin and add accessories. Only useable while in a barbershop. 1. Select "Player Model" 2. Go to the "Slot" section, use Left and Right arrow keys to browse the different skins. 3. Only usable by freemode skins. Changing Characters Changing characters will bring you back to the Character Creation/ Selection screen (pictured below). You can change characters at the following locations: - When logging in for the first time - All housing - City Hall - Police Stations Vehicles/Garages: Cars More vehicles are being added to the server. Vehicles will run out of gas and can be refueled at gas stations. Lowing your windows down will help you be heard more easily as well. Lower-end vehicles are purchasable at Mosley's in South Los Santos on Strawberry Avenue. Indicated by icon. Flywheels Garage up in Sandy has unique cars that any redneck would love. Indicated by the icon PDM in central Los Santos on Power Street (near block 3212 / Legion Square across from the Ammunation) is a player-owned and run car dealership where you can get more advanced vehicles. Motorcycles Can be purchased at Sanders Motorcycle shop, located on Adam's Apple Blvd, near the Tram station. Indicated by icon Bicycles Bicycles are purchasable, rentable, sellable, and storable at three main locations shown on the map with icon. Vespucci Sports (sells BMX, Cruiser, Scorcher, and various race bikes) Mr Spoke's Bike Rental (sells the Cruiser) Paleto Mountain Bikes (sells the Scorcher) Job Vehicles Job specific vehicles (e.g. Taxis, Tows, News Vans, etc) are added to your fleet. You can store them and pull them out of your job's garage location. Storing Personal Vehicles Vehicles can be stored at most major parking lots with security booths throughout San Andreas. If your car is out and you want it transferred to a garage/ parking lot, you can pay a $2,000 fee to do so. Housing: Available Housing - Motels ($500): cheapest form of housing. Comes with storage (100kg) and closet for outfit storage. - Apartments ($5K, $10K, $20K+): Comes with storage (300kg) and a closet for outfit storage. Businesses: - Open interiors to be added and made purchasable as business index is developed. - Register business name at Commerce Building ($500 minimum) - Amount of capital in business dictates how much dirty money you can launder in a day - Tiers of businesses to be implemented Stores - Ammunation: Buy legal weapons - Car Wash: Get your vehicle cleaned. - Banks: Deposit and withdraw money - Barbershops: Change your face, hair, and complexion for $100 - Bars: Purchase alcoholic beverages and some foods - Benny's: Player owned and operated repair and custom shop for your vehicle. - Convenient Stores (24/7 & LTD): Buy food, drinks, and misc items. - Clothing Stores: Change shirts, jackets, pants, shoes, hats, and glasses - Fast Food (Horny's, Burger Shot, Cluckin' Bell): Purchase food and drink to replenish hunger and thirst easily - Gas Stations: Fill your cars up with gas. - Liquor Stores: Purchase alcoholic beverages for mixing as a bartender - Los Santos Customs: Get your vehicle's cosmetics fixed. - Mechanic Shop: Player operated shop to repair your vehicle's engine - Smoke on the Water: Sells medicinal marijuana cigarettes - YouTool: Buy misc tool items. Weapons: You can purchase legal firearms at the “Ammu-Nation” locations and limited illegal firearms at the black market locations scattered throughout Los Santos. Rumors have it that some citizens of Los Santos also may be in the business of building, and selling illegal weapons at competitive prices. (Hint: We mean players here - in case it wasn’t obvious) In order to keep out of trouble with local law enforcement, be advised - citizens are only authorized to carry class 1 and class 2 weapons. Class 3 and above are illegal (but perfectly okay as far as server rules go) so if you choose to carry or deal in them, be prepared to deal with the RP costs of the action. Class 1: Melee weapons, Taser Class 2: Pistols, Antique Firearms (Not currently implemented) Class 3: Assault Rifles, Submachine Guns, Shotguns Class 4: Long Rifles (Snipers) Note: Your weapons will disappear if you change player skins. Be sure to store weapons to add them to your inventory if you wish to keep them. Medical Aid: Getting Revived If you are rendered unconscious while playing, you will be able to press [ E ] to notify emergency services (PD and EMS). You will be given a counter to tell you how long you have to wait until you can choose to respawn where you will lose your inventory. Additionally, a player can drag you and take you to a nearby hospital or shady vet clinic for you to pay $750 and get care. However, please value the RP and role of EMS and Doctors and utilize their service as often as possible. Non Emergency Aid If you can't find a doctor or EMS, but would like a temporary health bonus, you can buy Deludamol painkillers over the counter at Pharmacies across the map. Medicinal weed is also available at Smoke On The Water by Leslie's Lifts. You can also visit Pillbox medical center and check in for a hospital stay for $750. Additionally, if you're a criminal, you can visit shady 'veterinary hospitals' in Paleto and Grapeseed and pay for healing there. Doctors on the server will also have advertised clinic hours at two of the hospital interiors we have on our server: Mount Zonah in Rockford Hills and Pillbox Medical Center near Mission Row. If you need medical care but missed the EMS or Doctors when you got injured, or want to transport yourself to the hospital for treatment, you can do so, but it will follow the same fee-for-service system as explained below. Jobs You are able to have one legal job and one illegal job. Civilian 'job' does not pay. 12. LAST UPDATED: January 27th, 2020 Community Rules No personal insults, verbal attacks, bullying, or harassment of any kind outside of roleplay. This results in removal from the Whitelist and for larger offenses, a community ban. This includes all forms of social media and direct messaging. No trash-talking other players or the server on Streams. Please remember that the majority of the server streams, so even if you do not, what you say can be heard by perspective members, new members, and Admins. Airing personal grievances with the server on Stream or in character is not constructive. This also applies to Stream chats. All OOC issues should be handled in Discord or discussed with an Admin. Server Rules & Guidelines No RP that violates the Twitch Community Guidelines (rape, erotic RP, etc). No use of Hacks, Exploits, or Glitches. This also includes Handling Files that override ones on the TLSRP server. Conduct yourself respectfully. Conflict is vital for RP, but make sure that you don't let your temper be the best of you. Respect your fellow players, Admins, and Devs, follow the guidelines set by the staff, and don't let personal anger out in game. Value your life. You must hold value of your own and others lives. For example, if you’re being held at gunpoint by multiple people, drawing a weapon would result in almost certain death. Running from gun point could result in your own death. No RDM (Random Death Match). Words before bullets. You must engage verbally with someone before using lethal force so that they have heard you. Keep VOIP distance in mind! No breaking character. Think of how your character would react to situations, what cars they'd buy, etc. The primary focus of this server is Role Play, therefore you must stay in character at all times. Play true to what that means for your character. Sometimes the RP will go your way and sometimes it won’t, but if you keep the RP in character and on the server, everyone will have a good time. If you must refer to Discord or Server- related issues in character, Discord can be referred to as 'the government website' and server actions can be referred to as 'the government is doing ____'. No childbirth/pregnancy/ miscarriage RP. The GTA V universe does not have children portrayed for a reason: no possible depicition of violence towards them. We would rather err on the side of caution and follow this approach as well. Players are to pick one (1) job path that matches their character history/profile/etc and refrain from switching jobs in order to gain access to resources they would otherwise not have. With the limited exception being specific roleplaying events where this may make sense. (Eg: Pretending to be a security guard for a specific RP event, etc) When you are in a job that has a duty vehicle or uniform, be *in* that duty vehicle or uniform. Eg: Ambulances and EMT Uniforms for EMT, Repair or Tow Trucks for Repair, Taxis for Taxi, and so on. No meta gaming/ stream sniping. You cannot utilize information acquired outside of character and apply it in character. Examples: starting a bank robbery and then stopping it after seeing on a Twitch stream that police are on their way, starting a character that knows everything your previous character knows, showing up to a place after seeing people are there on a stream, etc. No pre-existing characters from popular media. You can draw inspiration from them, but exact characters or similar characters with different names are prohibited. Be original characters Do not create a super character. A character that knows how to do everything robs others of RP in those specific roles. In making sure to follow this rule, we also open up opportunities for other characters and their specialties to serve a purpose. EMTs having extensive medical knowledge, lawyers being able to help you with your charges, and so on. Your character does not know the server rules or the game mechanics. Your criminal character does not know the Police SOP as extensively as your police character. Your slender backwoods rabble rouser shouldn’t be able to lift as much as a world class weightlifter, and so on. No power gaming. This includes, but is not limited to: logging off while being pursued or detained by police, forcing a player who is being robbed to drive to the bank and then stealing all of their funds, using "/me" to force a player to perma without previous consent, using out of game mechanics for situational advantage, etc. Downed Players: If your character is downed and you need revived or choose to respawn, you cannot return to the scene of your death as long as there is active RP ongoing. Speaking/noise-making while unconscious is per player discretion, however context and cause of injury must be taken into account. Falling from a great height, head trauma, multiple gunshot wounds, for example, would render a person unconscious and thus unable to speak. Tripping over a shoelace, or getting shot in the foot, might not. If EMS/Police are alerted, they will first look for life signs before attempting to revive. If the downed player is not speaking or otherwise reactive, they will type “/me checks pulse.” You must either indicate “/me has pulse” if you wish to be revived, or “/me no pulse” if you wish to permadeath. If you indicate no pulse, EMS/Police will transport your body to the morgue, where you can change characters. In some cases, the server’s doctor may contact you via discord to gather RP evidence at player discretion. If you choose to perma, please create a post in the #obituaries Discord channel. No cop baiting. This includes but is not limited to: purposefully trying to draw police into a high speed chase for no RP reason, shooting guns to lure them to your location for no RP reason, etc. No use of third-party application such as Discord, Team Speak, Skype, etc while Roleplaying. (Except for Police/ EMS radio use on duty) No breaking into the Military Base or going to the Battleship. You wouldn't do this in real life. No broadcasting music via VOIP without agreement from all parties present. Do not attempt to utilize the LLC system to claim ownership over “Enterable” special locations such as the Vanilla Unicorn, TequiLaLa, and so on - these special structures will be added to the purchasable corporations as the economy matures. You are however free to utilize it to claim regular non-enterable businesses. You cannot identify another player for a crime solely based on their voice. Recognize that not everyone can alter their voices for different characters, etc. Please limit yourself to 5 personal vehicles (not counting job vehicles). If you are in game, you should *not* be in any stream that is on the server. We understand you want to support your favorite streamers, but sadly not *everyone* is trustworthy 100% of the time. Don't idle, don't sit in paused mode -just don't be in a stream if you are on the server. The only exception to this being the admin team, who often need to investigate or monitor things. Criminal Rules There must be at least two (2) cops on duty to rob a bank. Heists (Union Depository) require at least four (4) cops. 24/7 Stores and Jewelry Stores should not be robbed without any PD / Security (at all) on duty. If the correct number of police are not on duty, you will not be able to trigger said robberies. This is to encourage more organic criminal activity. Group sizes are limited to six (6) people. Groups are defined as: Any organization sharing a collective goal, operating in conjunction to prevent/enable a specific outcome, or collaborating to control specific resources. Close groups of friends or outliers to an organization/group/clan/gang count towards the group total. Groups shall not own more than two (2) corporations within a given season at one time. This is to prevent mechanics being locked off entirely by one organization, and preventing non-affiliated players from utilizing them. Corporations purchased prior to this rule being integrated will be grandfathered in. Your character does not know the server rules or the game mechanics. Your criminal character does not know the Police SOP as extensively as your police character. No power gaming. This includes, but is not limited to: logging off while being pursued or detained by police, forcing a player who is being robbed to drive to the bank and then stealing all of their funds, using "/me" to force a player to perma without previous consent, using out of game mechanics for situational advantage, etc. Crimes and convictions - whilst the law enforcement will do their best to charge for the actual crimes committed at times it may be possible that the wrong person serves time. The highest ranking officer's say is final in all cases. The goal is to make the process as quick and painless as possible for both sides of the law. When your character is placed in jail or prison, you must either serve the full sentence on said character via either time in game, or not playing that specific character at a conversion ratio of 1 Year (12 months) to 1 Day IRL. If you feel that you are being unjustifiably fined or given time to serve, please reach out to an Admin. When a player kills/uncons another player with the clear intent of "permaing" (aka murdering) another player - they subject themselves to the following: The Police Department will attempt an investigation, if they acquire enough evidence to charge the killer with the crime of murder a murder trial will be held. An impartial Admin will serve as judge for this trial. During the duration of the trial (and leading up to), the character charged with the murder will be remanded in custody. If the Prosecuting Attorney is able to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, the sentence for Murder in the First Degree ( any intentional murder that is willful and premeditated with malice aforethought.) is life imprisonment. If they are unable to prove this, the judge will find the defendant Not Guilty and the charges are dropped. Lethal force against locals will be treated the same as lethal force against players. Do not try and bypass server mechanics through killing locals (shooting them out of their car because you are too lazy to use the carthief job)
